Aug - Sep, 2008 Vol. 7 No.4
Dear friends,
Greetings from Mongolia in the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior.
During this summer, Mongolia was blessed to have enough rain; there was even green pasture here and there. We had never seen much
rain like this. Since Sep. 15th, the heating system has been working in all the apartments.
Summer ministry has finished in Altanbulag. We continued to teach English, Korean, Computer, and Literacy from Aug. 1st to 14th there. Even though Gina had gone back to her country on Aug. 5th, our team members taught the English class. Sometimes, Grace helped to demonstrate the pronunciation and she was a pretty good teacher.
There is an army base near the village. We had a good opportunity to teach some illiterate soldiers how to read and write. They came from the countryside and some had never been in school because they were cowboys since they were young. All day, we had class and they learned the alphabets and started to read and write.
We developed Inner Mongolian primer from Sep. 1st to 15th. Two Inner Mongolians joined this workshop from Inner Mongolia. However one of them was not a Christian. The Mongolian alphabet is hard to divide by syllable. According the location of the word, a letter is changed. We accept this challenge and try to work through it.
For this workshop, Dr. Kim and Missionary Kim joined us from Korea and sister Mona came to help us from Jesus Abbey. We faced the problem of having lesson 12 of the literacy book on the third day, which was very difficult. At last one Inner Mongolian gave up doing it and he had to go back to his country. We understood him and blessed him. It seemed like it was impossible to finish this workshop. However we continued to do it and finished on the fifth day. When we printed out the two books, we were touched.
We bought our own piece of land with one Mongolian Christian. We expect to build our building like Tutor place in Tulsa next year. We believe that God will lead us to the next step through this building.
We got a check-up for our stomachs on Aug. 15th. The doctor said both of us had better get a more detailed check-up in Korea. So we are going to visit Korea this winter.
Prayer requests
1. Pray for editing and publishing Inner Mongolian Primer.
2. Pray for recheck-up for our stomachs this winter. May God protect us and keep us healthly.
3. Pray for preparing for our building next year.
4. Pray for our house church to preach the gospel and to make disciples.
5. Pray for our literacy ministry in Ulaanbaatar. (in jail and army)
?Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. (Isaiah43:1)?
We are praying for all of you to be in the grace and love of God all the time.
Sincerely in Jesus,
Gamaliel, Gloria, Grace, and Luke Kim
