Its beautiful dark brown heart with light yellow outer wood make it a favorite for ornamental wood working. This cross, designed at Jesus Abbey, has become the symbol of the Abbey and its community. Traveling around the world, it is not uncommon to spot Abbey crosses at prayer meetings and other gatherings of Believers. Set of 15 post cards: $ 3.00 The Art of Jane Grey Torrey Jane Torrey, who, with her husband, Archer, founded Jesus Abbey almost 40 years ago, is an accomplished artist. This collection of quality post card reproductions presents twenty-four of Sister Jane’s favorite paintings done between 1959 and 1980. Most of them are scenes at or near Jesus Abbey with a few from other parts of Korea. Set of 24 post cards: $ 5.00 Kneeling Bench (image not available) The Korean style of kneeling prayer is to kneel with your bottom resting on your heels. This can be tiring, especially to old knees and ankles—especially Western ones… Craftsmen at the Abbey came up with a wonderful solution for guests who found the long times of prayer a bit difficult on the legs. It was such a wonderful solution that many “Abbeyites”, themselves quickly adopted it. It is a small wooden folding bench that fits over your legs and feet while you kneel that you then sit back on. It makes it much easier to kneel/sit still during prayers. ;-) These kneeling benches are beautifully made at the Abbey of light blond pine.
