On August 6, 2002, God graciously took Father Archer Torrey home. A world
without Archer brings tears to our eyes, however, we rejoice in knowing
God greeted him saying, "Well done, good and faithful servant!" and how
happy Archer must be.
The founder of Jesus Abbey is an Anglican priest, Father Archer Torrey who
started this community with his wife Jane Torrey over thirty five years
ago. High in the remote mountains of South Korea, Jesus Abbey has answered
the call that has come down throughout the ages, to spread the gospel of
Jesus to all nations.
Jesus Abbey is a community of believers where the first century teachings of
Jesus Christ are kept alive in the present. Here, a
group of modern day disciples, are trying to establish the Kingdom of God on earth by
living in relationship with the Lord while serving their fellow man.
